2. PSP Shopping

Finally, after almost three years, I'm getting my own PSP next week. My.Very.Own.PSP! Can't wait. There goes my daily free time.

3. Road Trip To Penang

When I think of Penang...yummy!

4. Paintball Fight!

This would be the first time I'm taking the field for a game of paintball. This time, I would be able to get a first hand feel of how painful getting hit by a paintball is.

Meet Kingda Ka!

Kingda what? Prior to reading about it somewhere a few days ago, I didn't know what Kingda Ka was. Initially, I thought it was a seafood dish from some Klang restaurant. You know, something like King Prawn or something. Boy, I was so wrong.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Kingda Ka:

OMFG! Who would have thought for something which has probably the funniest name ever could be the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster. Launched by a hydraulic launch mechanism to 206 km/h in 3.5 seconds, this bad-ass roller coaster will climb the main top hat tower which reaches a height of 140 freaking meters!!! The Kingda Ka is located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey, USA.

I don't know about you guys, but for someone who is having second thoughts about going on the Space Shot in Genting again, I'm not looking forward to challenging the Kingda Ka to a do-or-die battle. Oh yeah, Kingda is gonna do it, and I'm gonna die!

I don't mean to be mean, but sometimes hearing another person's voice through the phone cracks me up. The manner they answer the phone, their voices and the dumb things they say on the phone sometimes made me laugh out loud (like I said, I don't mean to be mean, but I can't help myself). But a year back, this phone conversation I had with an operator totally raised the bar for the ultimate phone conversation stupidity.

At that time, I was with this PR company and I needed to contact the editor of this magazine owned by a large local broadcasting company urgently. So I called the hotline and this girl, I presume it's the operator, picked up the phone. The conversation - which I swear is a true story - went something like this:

Dumb-ass Operator (DAO): Good morning! Thank you for calling XXX!

Me: Good morning. Could you pass me to the editor of ABC magazine please?

DAO: We don't have their number, so we can't pass you to her

Me: Ohhkayy! So can I have their number so I can personally call her?

DAO: We don't have her number, sir

Me: What about her e-mail? Can I have her e-mail please?

DAO: We don't have her e-mail too

Me: Then can I at least know the editor's name?

DAO: You Google lah!

At that very moment, I went speechless. And at that very moment, I felt the girl's hand crushing my nuts. I don't know what to say to that poor girl, so I quietly hung up the phone.

The Story Of A Travelling Bean Bag

Hiya everyone! Meet Joe, the sometimes annoying laughing bean bag. Joe is almost two years old. Joe was 'adopted' by his owner when he was spotted looking outside the window with his sappy eyes, pleading for some kind soul to bring him home.

Just like Mary's little lamb, Joe follows his owner wherever he goes. He has been to a few places and occasionally follows his owner to work. But no thanks to his annoying laugh, Joe has been banned from visiting his owner's workplace. Too bad, Joe, too bad!

One of Joe's favourite past time is to annoy the hell out of everybody. Some might think he is cute, but to others, he is downright annoying. During a recent road trip with his owner, he never failed to annoy his owner, eventhough his owner needs to focus on the road:

Not only that, Joe has a knack of showing up unexpectedly and often unannounced, just to annoy people. Somehow, Joe finds pleasure in ruining other people's day for the heck of it. Sorry Doggie and Bear, knowing Joe's annoying habit, you two should really get a room if you wanna make Bearpups!

But at the end of the day, after a whole day of travelling and annoying the sh*t out of people, Joe would usually kick back and give himself a pat on the back for a job well done. Mission accomplished. Joe lives to annoy another day!

That Evil Black Thing

The mean, lean, black machine

I have been wanting to get one of these for the longest of time (yes, I know I'm three years overdue, so shut up!) but I haven't got the chance to, with money being the main reason why. Over the weekend, my brother got one and let me tell you, this black object is evil with a capital 'E'!

For anyone who loves gaming as much as I do, they would agree that the PSP is one hell of an entertainment device: you can play games, listen to music, watch movies and surf the web with this device.

When you have this device in your hands, hours pass by like minutes. On Sunday, I spent three hours playing this game:

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes

Not only is the game addictive but it is sure tough as hell. It took me almost 30 minutes getting past one round, no thanks to this guy. My fingers literally went numb after the three-hour stint. Not because I suck at the game, but the difficulty of the level is hard and I have only less than a day of training OK?

Anyway, I think I’ll get one by the end of the year. But at the mean time, my bro’s poor PSP will suffer the wrath of my PSP-derived fingers.

Stupid Technology Jargon

I hate technology jargon. Hateeeee!!! Don't get me wrong, I like gadgets and stuff - like I know what a PSP stands for and what TouchFlo is - but I seriously can't stand deeper technologial jargon. To me, they are like rocket science. Wait, it IS rocket science.

Today I was supposed to come up with a proposal for an IT client for work, so half of the time I was scratching my head wondering what some jargon means. Like for example: technological footprint! What the f*** is a technological footprint? The first thing that popped into my mind was this:

Stomp the yard!

I thought technological footprints are footprints left behind by Optimus Prime. But of course, I did not say that out loud to my boss cos he's gonna frigging rip my head off.

So anyway, technological footsteps are basically left overs of some technological stuff that you did not fully utilized. Like for example, you are using only 40GB of your 100GB hard disk space, and thus the remaining 60GB is a technological footstep. Or something like that

In simpler words, it means mechanical poop! And why can't they call it that? The term is more self-explanatory, don't you think?

Yup, it's now official: local hero Lee Chong Wei is now a Dato'! The Penang State Government has confirmed that they will confer the title to Chong Wei on the 30th of August for his contributions to the state and country.

Some people might not be too happy with the idea, but I think he deserves it; after everything he has done for Malaysia. I mean, that's the least Malaysia can do for him.

Besides, if someone can get a Datukship for making roti canai in space, why can't a talented world number two badminton player who happens to be the only Malaysian athlete who brought back a medal from the Olympics in 12 years get one?

And seriously, this is the first time I have seen a movie where the old "over-sized crotch" trick got so over-used, it made all the guys with small pee-pee out there feel bad about themselves.

But thankfully, Adam " I-only-be-stiff-for-you" Sandler managed to raise the "over-sized crotch" bar by making it funny - and he did an excellent job making fun of it too. Yeah, you'll most probably be blushing through out the entire movie, but hey, it is all good fun.

Immortality is just a matter of time

Sigh! He was so close, but yet so far. I seriously believed that Lee Chong Wei stood a chance of bringing home the gold medal yesterday. But after yesterday's lost, I feel bad for him. Knowing that he has dedicated his entire life and probably sacrificing a lot to bring home the elusive gold, he deserves better.

The loss was heart-breaking; it was even worse when he tried to hold back his tears when he was on the podium.

But the billions who watched the match last night saw one thing: that it wasn't his fault he lost badly in the final, Lin Dan was just too darn good! We all could see Chong Wei played his heart out, but sh*t like this happens. Perhaps it was not his time yet, perhaps it was a test - to test his courage, to see how hard he can fall before he can achieve the immortality we all wanted him to achieve.

We know you did your best, and we don't blame you for the loss. Instead, we are proud of you. We are proud that you gave your best, we are proud that you tried to beat the odds, but most importantly we are proud that you did not give up. You can be sure we will be behind you every step of the way!

Well done, Chong Wei! Your time will come. We'll get them the next time, huh?

Well, not literally.

You see, I woke up this morning and to my horror, all the taps were dry! Not a single drip of water. Thanks to some not-so-pleasant "graffiti" carefully crafted by some a-holes at the lifts to my apartment, I found out that the management has a knack of cutting the water supply for no apparent reasons.

They'd better gimme back my water supply when I get back from work tonight. If not, hell hath no fury like a dude scorned!

Kissing Barcelona goodbye?

Other than the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2003, sad to say I'm not particularly interested in Sir Alex Ferguson's other signings. I'm not a big fan of Owen Hargreaves, Carlos Tevez or Michael Carrick. Well, maybe except Tevez - 'cos his goals kinda helped the team at times - but other than him, Nani and Nemanja Vidic, I think the other signings failed to live up to expectations.

But there's one potential signing I'm definitely interested in - and would like to see happen - though: Thierry Henry!

Just a few days ago, it was reported that Sir Alex has approached the goal-scoring God and is looking to bring him to Old Trafford. And like other Red Devil faithfuls out there, I'm terribly excited. I mean, 1) I'm a really big fan of Thierry 2) His goal scoring ability is better than Louis Saha and Tevez combined 3) MU need a striker who strikes fear into the opponents' hearts and 4) He will make the fans go "Cristiano Who?" at the end of next season.

One Big Chinese Trashing!

I know it's been almost three days since the epic battle between the ultra talented USA and the very big (literally!) China team. But I still can't accept the fact that the Yao Ming-led China - on their home court, with billions of fans cheering them on - lost to the US by a freaking 31-point margin!

Yeah, I know that the US team is extremely talented - with a line up of NBA All-Stars such as Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard - and clearly, they are THE team to beat, but come on, China could have at least given them a fight. But China gave up in the second quarter and was brought back to school by Kobe and Co.

Chinese player Sun Yue tied the score at 29-29 with a three-pointer in the second quarter and at that very moment, I thought it was going to be an exciting match. But then, before I can say "The Great Wall of China", the schooling happened:
